What is Endodontic Retreatment?
Sometimes, a tooth that has already had a root canal doesn’t heal the way it should or starts having problems again later. This can happen for several reasons—like new decay, a loose crown, or hidden canals that were missed during the first treatment. You might feel pain, sensitivity, or swelling, or sometimes there may be no symptoms at all.
Endodontic retreatment is the process of redoing the root canal to give the tooth another chance to heal. We gently remove the old filling material, clean and disinfect the inside of the tooth, then seal it again to prevent infection. With today’s tools and techniques, retreatment can help save your natural tooth and keep it healthy for a long time.
